Our Area
The Washoe Theater
The theater was built in 1931 to accommodate the many vaudeville acts which toured through our area. Today it hosts concerts and provides a remarkable setting for first run movies. It is still family operated in the old time manner, with an 'intermission' and 'lodge' seating in the balcony for an 'extra' $ .25 .
The acoustics and sound system are extraordinary! This theater is on the National Historic Register and is one of the few remaining 'grand' theaters in the country!
When you visit Anaconda in the winter it is like stepping into a Norman Rockwell painting. The Washoe theather is open every night with recently released movies, for less than $7.00 per adult you can enjoy a movie, have popcorn and a drink.
